About BetaNights
Beta Night is a space to play, imagine, and test what’s possible.
It’s where builders, artists, and technologists try new ideas in a low-stakes, high-energy setting. No pitches. No polish. Just experiments, prototypes, and honest “what if?” conversations.
We gather people who care about immersive, experiential, and boundary-pushing work. The aim is to spark new connections and explore directions that don’t usually get room in day-to-day production. It’s a creative lab disguised as a party.
Express yourself, just keep in mind a few things to get the best scan possible. The scanner loves texture and structure, and our autorigging needs to be able to tell where your joints are: elbows, knees, shoulders, wrists, and ankles. So wear something with detail a clear outline of joints for the cleanest result.
A few extra guidelines:
Tips For Getting The Best Scan
-
Fitted, matte clothing (athletic wear, denim, knits, ribbed fabrics).
Clothes with texture or color variation help the scan solve better.
Solid black isn’t ideal, but we all wear it. It just tends to scan a bit noisy. If you go black, choose pieces with visible texture or structure so the system has something to lock onto.
Bare arms/legs are ideal; fitted sleeves/pants are fine if elbows/knees stay visible.
Short skirts are OK — but no skirts or dresses below mid-thigh.
-
Long dresses or skirts (anything below mid-thigh).
Wide, flowy, or oversized garments that hide your body shape.
Shiny or reflective fabrics (latex, PVC, sequins, leather pants).
Plain matte black outfits (too featureless for photogrammetry).
Clothing with humans printed on it (the system may rig the graphic instead of you).
Hair & Face
Tie hair back (ponytail, braid, bun). Keep ears visible.
No hair covering eyes or face.
Eyes must be fully open and looking forward.
No glasses.
Accessories
Okay: small, fitted jewelry.
Avoid:
Gloves
Big or long earrings
Multi-finger rings
Hats / hoods
Anything covering fingers or ears
